By Harrison Maina , Ajabu Africa News

ABINGTON, Mass. , MAY 1_Over one hundred worshipers gathered Sunday April 25 to celebrate the first anniversary and thanks giving ceremony since the inception of ANTOR church. The celebrations were held at the church located on at the First United church on 10 Bedford Street in Abington, some 20 miles South of Boston.

The event attracted a battery of renowned Kenyan gospel musicians, who made the event, look like a gospel music extravaganza.

The hosts Pastor Philip and Anne Kihato expressed sentiments and gratitude that the church had witnessed the passing of a whole year, and he was optimistic it would continue to grow.

Among the visiting artists were Betty Maina from Delaware and Nancy Wanja from North Carolina. Wanja is a former frequent performer on the Joy Bringers show, a Christian entertainment program on the Kenyan TV.  She electrified the faithful with her single hit Gweterera.

Local artists from Lowell who attended the event included Sarah Mbogo, Jane Munyua, Jayne Tinega, Florence Kimotho and Fideris Kuria. Others who performed included upcoming artists Peris Mbaria, who will be launching her new CD this Sunday at the CCF church in Lowell.
