African Festival Essay

The African Cultural Association is seeking essays to enter a competition for the 9th Annual African Festival to be observed on June 20th 2009 at the Sampas Pavilion in Lowell. Participants for this competition should be between 7-21 years of age.
Deadline for essays to enter the competition is June 17th 2009
1st place winner will receive $75
2nd place winner- $50
3rd place winner- $25
All others- Free African Festival T-shirt
Your essay should address the following:
1) Please describe how and why you should be involved in community service.
2) How do you get involved in the African festival?
3) What ideas would you give if you were given the chance to direct the program(African Festival)?
4) What would you like the African Festival Committee to incorporate at future festivals?
5) How do you show others about your culture?
The winner of this contest will have the opportunity to read their essay at the African festival on the 20th of June 2009.
