WOBURN, MA_Just one day before the 2nd Annual Ajabu African Awards Gala, the final list of the nominees which comprises of Africans and friends of Africa is finally out!
The list is a result of the great input by our readers and deep insight into the lives of some of these nominees, acts of kindness, personal and communal achievements that many would never have known. And for this we your editors are truly grateful, for fanning the flames of achievement in the lives of the nominees.
Winners in each category will be announced at the gala event that will take place this Sunday August 21 starting at 5.30 pm, at the Hilton in Woburn.
Other than the presence of the outstanding Ajabu Awards nominees which includes the newly elected Councilor Daniel Munyambu of Essex County in the UK, the gala night will also feature top music entertainers including gospel artists, Caroline Mbithi from the Kenyan community, Jackie Senyonjo, a popular Uganda gospel artist based in Kampala, Uganda, Stanley Porter, an African American gospel artist specializing in hip hop and R&B, Mary Kawala from the Ugandan Community in Waltham who will be making her music career debut, and Tildo Flexx, a Liberian young man whose new CD is topping the charts in Freetown.
Popular Kenyan gospel DJ, DJ Fresh will also entertain guests at the show.
Preparations are in high gear for the event that is expected to provide a rare insight into members of the African community who are among those paving the way for success for the next generation in their own different ways.
