NAIROBI- Kenya_JULY 11__A self-styled American Evangelist based in Kenya, Thomas Kevin Manton of Dominion International Church has denied possessing pornographic material.Pleading to the Charges at Kibera law courts in Kenya, Manton said the accusations are untrue and unfounded.
The American evangelist is accused of producing and distributing pornographic materials to his followers. The police are said to have completed investigations into the case and will be calling more than ten witnesses as the case proceeds.
He is charged that on February 25 this year at Runda estate in Nairobi the accused made or produced an obscene publication-a compact disc- intending to corrupt morals.
Police said that the accused did this for the purpose of trading or for the purpose of distribution or public exhibition. The evangelist was first arraigned before the court on June 24 but denied the offence.
The prosecution objected bail application by the accused on ground that police had not completed investigations. The prosecutor told the court that the accused, who came into the country in 2007, might face more serious charges after completion of investigation.
However after hearing both parties the magistrate released the accused on cash bail of Sh. 50,000 pending the hearing and determination of the case.
Father Kizito
In a related development, embattled Catholic priest Fr. Renato Sesana Kizito got some reprieve after two of the three young men he is accused of sodomizing recant their earlier pleas.
The lads, who are said to have sought refuge in a police station in Nairobi, claimed they were coerced to lie against the man of the cloth.

The young men whose statements last month and claims that the video recording of the unimaginable act of the priest sodomizing boys sent shock-waves in Kenya are now saying that they were threatened by unknown people and forced to accuse the priest.
When the police investigating the crime visited one of the homes run by Koinonia Community, a children’s facility run by the catholic priest, all the members of the community and the alleged victims retracted the earlier statements.
The Italian Catholic priest is accused of experimenting sexual gratification with boys by his fellow Koinonia Community Board members who say that he confessed that to them. It is also alleged that he was recording the same acts, and copies of the video recording have been circulated to media houses and even a member of parliament is said to have had a glimpse of the orgies prompting him to table a motion in parliament.
The Ikolomani legislator, Dr. Bonny Khalwale, said the video contents are despicable prompting the government to launch a thorough investigation into the matter.
On his part, Kizito reads malice in the case accusing the board members of malicious accusation in order to take over the Sh. 3 billion property his organization owns. All the other board members are of Kenyan origin.
Investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
