LOWELL, Mass., APRIL 18_Popular Gospel artist cum preacher, Ruth Wamuyu has reminded Kenyans in America to regard themselves highly because they touch the lives of many people.
Wamuyu was speaking during Easter service at the Kenya Community Presbyterian Church, Ushindi, last week , where she was the guest preacher, before reverting to her known role of praising through gospel music.
She told hundreds of worshippers present that many people walk around feeling bad about themselves while depending on others for their happiness.
Speaking in her native Kikuyu language, Wamuyu said that, “Everybody should learn to love themselves because God loved you first even before you were born.”
The talented artist said that Easter holiday was a time for believers to remember that Jesus died and resurrected so that human beings can be accepted by God because “you will never be accepted by people”.
Reading from the book of 2nd Corinthians 6:1, Wamuyu said that God had already made a plan for redemption of man from our sins even before we were born.
She told believers that people’s opinions about then was not important because “even if men don’t love you, there is someone who loves you. No one should be walking around feeling rejected and unaccepted because and if God accepts you, people will accept you. (Luke 2:52).”

“Haijalishi (Swahili for “it does not matter”) what people say about you. When God favors you, you will overcome the battle,” she encouraged his listeners.
Wamuyu added that it’s very frustrating when one does things to please people but they don’t appreciate. “That is why I stopped pleasing people,” she said.
She however cautioned people to tune to God’s favors when they happen because if they don’t, God will move on to the next person and the blessings will pass them, leaving them struggling in life.
“A human being without God is useless,” Wamuyu said. Sometimes we depend on the opinion of men to determine how far we can go but that is wrong.
She caused laughter when she said that many women wait for people to tell them that they are pretty, when God has already given them the best, only that they don’t see it.
Wamuyu advised single women in America to be active in church because that is the only good platform for men to see them and appreciate their beauty instead of sitting and complaining that no one wants to marry them.
“You have to come in front and dance in the choir because guys will be looking at you and you will get some interested to see you more,” said Wamuyu.
She commended Ushindi church pastor, Dr. Rev. Mumbuai Karimi for withstanding many battles that have come to him, assuring him that he will continue to win those battles.

“It’s amazing that the people you help are ones who try to finish you,” Wamuyu told the pastor.
“But it does not matter whether they try, you will win,” she encouraged her listeners amid applause from the worshippers. She predicted that there will be a big revival to happen in the city of Lowell because of the recent influx of Gospel artists in the area.
“If you see God sending so many singers here, then there is something big about to burst,” she predicted.
Wamuyu, who preaches with her husband at the Victory church in Nairobi, Kenya in addition to being a renowned gospel artist, went on to visit a family struggling with sickness in Nashua, New Hampshire, then finished the day with a Revival music performance at the CFF church, also in Lowell, organized by Faith Service ministries.
She has reeased over 10 gospel music albums and several DVDs, which are among the popular Mambo Sawa Sawa song, a Swahili language hit that alludes to the fact that “things are already better” when one accepts Jesus.
Dr. Rev. Mumbui Karimi, the pastor of Ushindi church, thanked Wamuyu for visiting their church and leading the worshipers in worship and wished her a happy trip back home to Kenya.
She has since left the country back to Kenya, and promised her fans that she will be coming back soon.
