Family Thanks Community for Help
AjabuAfrica.com
A Kenyan-based family has expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support they received from the Kenyan Community in the United States following their daughter’s sudden death.
Caroline Gathigia Kaaria, was fatally shot last month in Virginia by her husband, who then turned the gun into his mouth and shot himself dead. The Kenyan community joined hands and helped send her body home for burial.
In an email to Ajabu Africa today, Mr. Nicholas Kiambi, a brother to the deceased, thanked Kenyans for their spiritual, moral and financial support.

Dear “Amazing” Friends,
I would like to acknowledge with profound gratitude the immense support and encouragement extended to my family and I through prayers, encouraging messages, financial contributions, visits, phone calls, or any other way following the shocking demise of our beloved sister Caroline Gathigia Kaaria in Virginia, USA. My family, close relatives and friends back home sent me to relay their deep appreciation for your exceptional support. I have always taken pride in being a friend to most of you and/or knowing that we have something in common but after experiencing your support at this incredibly difficult time in our family, I’m left without enough words to THANK YOU to you all individually.
Your prayers, financial support and words of encouragement ensured that we met the huge financial burden towards bringing the body of my late sister Caroline back home from the USA and onwards to its final resting place. We laid her body to rest back home on Saturday 4th April and even though it may have not been possible for you to be there physically, we believe that you were with us in thoughts and prayers and grieving with us. We never felt alone through out this trying time and for that we say THANK YOU very much and may God bless you all.
Of particular note are the good friends that visited my mother and I during our trip to the Chester, VA to claim the body of my late sister and bring her back home. We shall always remember our daily fellowships as well as the immense support provided to us during our visit. I would also like to single out our good brothers; Isaac Kariuki of www.diasporamessenger.com (and his colleagues) and Harrison Maina of www.ajabuafrica.com (and his colleagues) for helping us share information about Caroline’s death as well as mobilizing financial support towards repatriating her body back home for burial. In addition, we would like to acknowledge the efforts of the late Caroline’s friends Susan Kioko (Chester, VA), Michael Kiprotich (Kansas, MO), Njau wa Waruhiu (Portland, OR), Stanley Muigai & Nelly Some (Seattle, WA), Elvis Otieno (Saginaw Valley, RI) among many friends.
To Reverends (and their families), Andrew K. Mweu, Preston Wambua, Kathurima and Mr. & Mrs. Mukuria, we have no words to tell you but rather mention that; you are simply a blessing to many and may Almighty God Bless you in his own special way. We humbly acknowledge your sacrifice which can never be repaid back. To friends still posting messages of condolences on Caroline’s Facebook’s profile, Thank you so much, let’s keep remembering the life she lived with so much exuberance and purpose.
We could never say THANK YOU enough or repay you for the sacrifice you made for the late Caroline Gathigia Kaaria’s family, but we will go out of our way to be there for you at your time of need God helping us. May God Bless you all!
Please extend this message to friends that I may or may not know that supported us in any way at this time of need.
With best regards,
Nicholas Kiambi
