ABINGTON, Mass., DECEMBER 5_ Once a drug addict and now one of Kenya’s renowned preacher based in UK, Apostle Joseph Njuguna is back in Boston after a great evangelical stint in the United Kingdom.

Apostle Njuguna, the founder and president of Man of God Ministries International based in Nottingham, United Kingdom (http://www.manofgod.co.uk ), has been captivating audiences with his accounts of his previously horrendous life in the dark world of drugs that rendered him 96% dead at one point.

One of the main visions for this servant of God is to build "Spiritual Deliverance Clinics" for drug addicts all over the World, with the goal of saving people from drug addiction, chemical dependence and all forms of addiction.

”I had been snorting drugs ever since I was a young man in Kenya and continued the deadly habit when I got to the UK,” said Apostle Njuguna during a recent revival meeting at the Calvary Gospel church in Lowell, Mass.

Breathing the fire of God with conviction, Apostle Njuguna told the hushed audience that if he is alive and thinking straight today, then anyone can recover from whatever bad conditions or habits they find themselves in, as long as they believe in God.

Since 1995 when he immigrated to London as a young man, Njuguna instantly searched and found bad company.

He roamed the bars and clubs of London, often drinking himself silly and seeking drugs and sexual gratification at any cost.

According to his autobiography, all of Njuguna’s friends either died of HIV/ AIDS or drug related causes.

“It was normal for me to spend long periods of time in jail as the police arrested me on many occasions,” Njuguna said at Calvary Gospel church in Lowell, Mass.

The now born again Apostle and a father of one had a life so bad that when women saw him come down the street in London, they would dive into a shop to avoid him as they knew he would definitely grab their pocket books to steal money for a fix.

“All my friends deserted me and I felt very lonely and rejected. I tried to kill myself out of desperation but I did not die”.

Due to the endless tirades he had with prostitutes in London, Apostle Njuguna got infected with several lethal sexual diseases which together with the heroin and cocaine he was shooting up his arm, he almost lost his life.

Many scars on his arms can be seen to this day as he used to search for the most previous spot he had injected the needle for the drugs so that he could shoot some more up his veins.

“ I was declared 96% dead  at one  time when I was picked up and brought to the hospital in London”. I could not feel myself”, Njuguna told AjabuAfrica.com.

“I was declared 96% dead at one time when I was picked up and brought to the hospital in London. I could not feel myself,” Njuguna told ajabuAfrica.com.

However, one day, a preacher in London asked him to come to his house for a cup of tea and Njuguna, the thug agreed to the invitation, secretly eying the briefcase the pastor had in his hands.

He figured that it could be full of cash, probably several million pounds. Therefore as the preacher was talking to him, Njuguna was devising a plan to neck lock the preacher (a mugger’s maneuver to immobilize victims popularly known as Ngeta in the streets of Kenyan urban centers).

According to excerpts from one of his books “The Hidden Traps in Drugs”, Apostle Njuguna was planning to grab the brief case, take off and became an instant millionaire.

However the pastor must have noted Njuguna;s intention so he switched the briefcase to the other hand to shield it from him and they walked to the house belonging to the preacher’s cousin.

“The preacher locked the briefcase away in the bedroom then started talking to me about how God can transform my life. He started asking me about my family and right there, I felt so bad and I became converted to follow Christ,” said Apostle Njuguna.

Later on, as time went by, he felt the need to spread the gospel that had given him a second chance at life.

The hard to believe account of this become real when one views pictures on his church’s website, www.ManofGod.co.uk and remnants of the scars all over his body.(watch video after the conversion)
“God has done the impossible in my life,” said Njuguna.

”I am now healed from HIV /AIDS and hepatitis C, survived over two heroin overdoses, a homeless, heroine addicted jail bird and now called to preach the good news of Jesus Christ,” he added with conviction.

Njuguna is one of the most sought out, seasoned international Gospel conference speakers all over the world.

“I decided to live for God and spread the word of God to all those who feel hopeless.”

Since the drastic change that can only be termed as divine intervention, Njuguna was miraculously rehabilitated to a point where he managed to get a very beautiful woman of God to marry him and start a family.

She is also a powerful gospel artist who has produced sweet gospel melodies in English and Swahili with the well known powerful African rhythms. Apostle Njuguna occasionally backs up his wife at the music production with background vocals.

Large numbers of people from various nationalities showed up at these meetings to witness the first hand accounts of a life that almost ended in disaster.

Now, the Man of God is again back in Boston to continue with his riveting message of hope and healing with over 70 saved this visit.
