LOWELL, Mass., _Kenyan Pastors in the USA have been asked to give their congregations the “right dose of truth”, so that the community can heal, paving the way for them to return to God.

The  call was made by Bishop Stephen Chege of   Full Glory International Center, based in Nairobi Kenya and who is in the USA on a preaching tour.

Bishop Chege was speaking on Sunday during the final session of a 2 day Thanksgiving revival conference at the Calvary Evangelical church in Lowell hosted by Rev. Charles Kihiko.

He said that it has come a time where pastors, as men and women of God, have to speak the true word of God to their congregations without fearing to hurt or loose them as this is the only way for Kenyans to live according to true Godly principles which will  improve their standards of well being.

He told several dozen worshippers that if a doctor administers the wrong medication or incomplete dose to a patient, the patient never heals.

“Even for TB treatment in Kenya, doctors used to prescribe 60 doses. If you missed any one of those shots, you had to start all over again if you wanted to be healed”, said   the Bishop.

He added that the church has too many joy riders who are just happy to attend Sunday services as long as the pastor never talks things that may hit them where it hurts.

As a result, Bishop Chege said, many Kenyans are living ungodly lives in the Diaspora and that is why there is so much stress in their lives.

“We have to preach the truth to these Kenyans so that they can realize the truth even if it hurts, then they will return to God”, he added flatly. “We can not continue to do business as usual”, he added.

He told the worshippers that as for him, he will always tell them the truth o matter what.

"Give people the correct dose of truth even when it hurts " , says Bishop Stephen Chege

He said that at one time, Jesus got fed up with preachers who preached for the sake of making the people feel good in church and avoided telling them the true requirements of the word of God, hence misleading them.

“Jesus one day gathered courage and blasted the Pharisees and Sadducees in church and called them hypocrites, asking them to talk the truth and lead people to worship the true God”, said Bishop Chege.(Mathew 15:1-20)

“Some of you pastors do not want to preach the truth to people because you fear next Sunday there is be no tithing or offering”.

However he added that even at his church in Nairobi, he told all the worshippers who said they will not attend church because the he  was not there when he goes on overseas missions that they are free to  leave because they are supposed to come to church to worship the true God but not to worship Bishop Chege.

He added that there are many pastors in the area and if a person does not like one pastor, then they can always go to another church, but at least, attend church somehow.

Supporting Bishop Chege’s remarks, Rev. Charles Kihiko, the pastor of the Calvary Evangelical church said that it is time that Kenyans in Boston returned to God in big numbers led by the pastors themselves.

In fiery event closing remarks, Rev. Kihiko said that if pastors agree to return to God, they will make the other Kenyans also return to God, especially the youth who have shunned church for a long time.

“Now we have to return to God. Even me now I will return to God. I ask my fellow pastors that we all return to God .Let us tell the people the truth and our community will be healed”, said Rev. Kihiko in highly charged remarks.

He said that when all is said and done, the pastor’s quality of work will also be judged in heaven.

A fired up Rev. Charles Kihiko asks Kenyans to return to God now!

“I don’t want be preaching to people to go to heaven only for me to perish in hell if God judges me with preaching the wrong things so as to please people”.

Rev. Kihiko added that other than preaching and practicing the truth as a way to lead their congregations back to God, the pastors need to organize more revival meetings to give people an opportunity to be ministered to.

He also thanked all the Kenyans and pastors who attended the revival for having the courage to come out in good numbers to hear the word of God.

“It is clear people are thirsty of the word of God. We will now give you more of the true word by organizing more meetings”, added the long time pastor.

He called on youths to return to church in big numbers and the pastors will support them in their spiritual lives and in other areas as well.

Among other pastors who attended the event included pastor John wachira of the Christ is the Answer church in North Chelmsford, and pastor Ben Njuru of the Compassionate Fellowship church in Worcester. They both vowed to heed to the message of Bishop Chege and lead their congregations to return to God by speaking the true word and leading by example.

Bishop Chege will be speaking to Kenyans again on Sunday when he presides over the ordination ceremony of Sister Sarah Wanjiku   of the Jamhuri Gospel church in Worcester.
