Kenyans Invited for 2010 Jamhuri Day Celebration in Lowell, Ambassador to the UN to Attend

 LOWELL, Mass._The annual Jamhuri (Swahili for Independence) day celebrations usually organized by the Kenya Pastors Fellowship, an organization that brings together pastors of many of the Kenyan community churches in New England, will take place on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the CCF Church in Lowell, Mass..

 According to a communication from the officials of the Kenya pastor’s fellowship, led by the chairman, Bishop David Karaya, the Kenyan Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Dr. Josephine Ojiambo, will be the guest of honor, in addition to other dignitaries.
 
 “We are inviting every member of the Kenyan community in this area to come and celebrate the Jamhuri day celebrations with us as we have always been doing in the past”, said Bishop Karaya on a telephone call to Ajabu Africa News.
 
During this year’s Jamhuri day celebration, which is an annual event to mark the day that Kenyan attained full independence, (Jamhuri), “an affordable term-life insurance product will be launched and offered to all people”, said Rev.Carl-Philip Kihato, the secretary of the Kenya Pastors Fellowship, in an email communications.

 According to the Kenyan Pastors fellowship, the sale of the insurance cover whose details will be released in due course is in an effort to deal with the rising incidences of burial fund raisings within the community.

 “Come ready to enroll. No questions will be asked and everyone qualifies”, added Rev. Kihato.

Other than the plan offered by the pastors, other plans by other Kenyans will be offered for people to choose from.

 Last year, the Jamhuri day celebrations by the Kenyan Pastor’s fellowship took place at the Divine Gospel Ministries in Worcester.

 In 2008, the event, that is held in different church venues on a rotational basis, took place at the Christ is the Answer Church.

The 2010 event will start at 3pm at the Community Christian church in Lowell located on 105 Princeton Blvd, Lowell, MA, 01851.
