According to the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Fredrick Gathoga, 41, was arrested after his wife, Naomi Mwangi, was found dead on the kitchen floor of their Carlton Point Drive home.

The couple's home, in Palmetto, is about 35 minutes drive from downtwon Atlanta.

Palmetto police charged Gathoga with murder, said GBI spokesman John Bankhead.

Police believe Gathoga killed his wife during a domestic dispute, said Bankhead, whose office was called to assist in the investigation at about 1:15 a.m.

Further reports from the WSBTV, said that Mwangi was killed by blunt force trauma to the head, according to the Medical Examiner's Office. Investigations are going on.

The murder is the third of its kind in recent history where a Kenyan man has been accused of brutally killing his wife in the US.

In the summer of this year, a Kenyan young man was charged in the state of New Hampshire with the killing of his girlfriend and mother to his son, while 3 months ago,  another Kenyan was sentenced to life in prison without parole for a similar killing of his wife that took place in  2007.

Also this year, in another unrelated incident, a Kenyan woman in Alabama was charged with multiple stabbing to death of her roommate.
