QUINCY, Massachusetts, Sept 28-   Christians have been reminded that the church is not fancy buildings but its individual members. These words were said by Rev. Evan Irungu during the seventh anniversary of the All Saints Community Church in Quincy, Ma.

The event also marked the launch of the church website; www.allsaintscommunitychurch.org

It was definitely a great milestone to this Kenyan dominated church that was established by only five members and which has now grown to over 100 members. The church service is conducted in Kikuyu, the language of the members which makes one feel at home away from home.

During the colorful event, Rev. Fredrick Thanji, the founder and pastor of the church expressed his gratitude to those members who have stood in faith with him to expand the church from its humble beginnings "we have moved to different venues and you have stood firm as a church family," Rev. Thanji said.

It was also during the service that the members were informed that the church development committee had identified a church building in Rockland and which may be the new sanctuary once negotiation about its purchase were completed.

"You are all welcome to visit the intended new sanctuary in Rockland and offer your opinion," Tony Kabuga, the church secretary informed the members.

Rev. Evan Irungu pegged his theme on perseverance in any journey. He reminded the congregation the adage that 'a path without obstacles does not lead anywhere' and extolled them to remember the words of James 1:2-3 which says; "consider it pure joy, my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."

He encouraged the members of the fast growing church to keep their eyes focused on what lies ahead of them and that they should live as good examples of the love of Christ. "Let your actions show the love of Christ," Rev. Irungu said as he concluded his inspiring message.

After the church service, members and visitors were treated to sumptuous Kenyan meals ably prepared by the church members. On offer was irio, ugali, pilau, tasty karanga, and sukuma wiki.
