Gwanga Mujje Boston to swear in New Leaders As Capt. Musisi Fundraise For Kasubi Tombs

WALTHAM, Mass.,_Gwanga Mujje Boston chapter will on Sunday, January 16th swear in new leaders whose main agenda will be to take forward Buganda’s demands

 In a statement issued in Boston, Massachusetts, the organization officials said that the inauguration of new leaders of Gwanga Mujje Boston for 2011/2012 will take place this Sunday at the Lower Hall of St Peters Anglican Church of Uganda on 750 Main Street Waltham, Massachusetts.

The statement, the organizers called on every peace loving Muganda to come and witness the inauguration and swearing in of a new breed of the Gwanga Mujje Boston executive committee, which with out delay, should embark on working for the wellness of Mother land Buganda.

It added that, “Your participation in this inauguration occasion means your commitment to being part of the Buganda community in Boston because in the sense of "Buli ali waali waalilabira enjuba n'omwezi mu byo kulaafubanira obuganda" meaning that wherever one may be one should participate in promoting the wellness of Buganda; so do not let yourself left behind.

Meanwhile in a related development Capt. Frank Musisi, former boss of Uganda North America Association (UNAA) and now the Buganda Kingdom Special Mobiliser in the USA/Canada, UK and chairman of the Kasubi Royal Tombs Restoration funds (KRTRF) has called on folks in the Diaspora to join KRTRF in 2011 during his mobilization tour to Virginia, Boston and Washington DC.

In statement which he released to Ugandans in the Diaspora, Musisi said that his tour kicked off last week in Virginia were he met with Buganda officials and friends of Buganda.
Speaking to Ajabu Africa Reporter, Musisi said that he will be visiting the states of Virginia, Massachusetts and Washington DC.

"On Sunday, I met with Baganda and friends in Richmond, Virginia at 6.00pm and in the meeting we discussed and updated members on the work of KRTRF and other crucial Buganda issues.

Musisi added that the agenda for the Boston meeting will include among others, meeting new and old friends of Buganda and update the on the work and challenges faced in restoration of the Kasubi royal tombs.

"We will have to use this opportunity to mentor our young people in the areas where we have experience. We have also invited colleagues to give us a hand in this mentorship program and we will also discuss burning current issues in Buganda," he noted.

Musisi urged all Baganda, Ugandans and friends of Buganda to forget their political and religious differences and come together to forge a way forward for the tombs, saying that the burnt tombs were a national pride and not only Buganda’s.
 
He said that the venue of the meeting will be Westin hotel in Waltham on Saturday January, 2011 at exactly 5.00pm.

Musisi emphasized that any one who plans to attend the event should be there by exactly 5.00pm, saying that the 1st hour will be dedicated to invited guests who are the mentors, to address the members on the available opportunities.

He said that the event will be open to the general public and access to the mentor will be on first come first serve basis. Parking will also be free.

"Our appreciation and thanks go to the volunteers who have stepped forward and joined hands to help our work for the Kasubi Royal Tombs Restoration Fund Committee, under the office of the Buganda Kingdom Special Mobilizer in the United States.

“We also thank many of you who have sent us messages of advice, encouragement and support towards this effort. We are very encouraged to continue this noble cause, thank you," he noted.

Ssaabasajja Kabaka needs our support and commitment, especially at this time when Buganda is under tremendous ridicule and disrespect. It is our responsibility as Baganda with the help of friends of Buganda in the Diaspora, to help Nnyafe Buganda. Agali awamu ge galuma ennyama.
