Ugandan Christian faithful in Massachusetts will celebrate Easter Holiday in style. They have planned a great Gospel event scheduled to take place in Waltham, Massachusetts, on Sunday, March 9 at 10 Putney Ave.

  The event is organized by members of the Global Church, located on Moody Street in downtown Waltham. Moody Street is famous among the Ugandan community in Massachusetts because it hosts dozens of businesses, churches and other organizations frequented by a large number of Ugandan Immigrants inhabiting the greater Waltham area.

Talking to AjabuAfrica.com about the event, Rev. Katende said the purpose of the March 9 event is to raise funds to promote the 6th Annual Pastor’s Wives & Women Ministries Network International 2008 Conference. The conference will be held on March 14th to 16th at Best Western TLC Hotel in Waltham, Massachusetts.

It is expected that the event will maintain its fame as one of the most entertaining Christian celebrations held by the East African Community in Massachusetts. People of all walks of life, including women and children, are welcome to attend. Scheduled events include;

  • Preaching the word of God
  • Vigorous dancing
  • Food and cooking
  • Socializing and screening of the wildly popular Christian movie, “The Passion of the Christ”.

The extravaganza comes in the heels of a glamorous 10th Annual Valentine’s Gala, which was held two weeks ago at the Radisson Hotel in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Apostle Darius and Prophetess Mwaka Twagirayesu played hosts. The couple is from Rwanda and Zambia respectively and they are currently living in Dallas, Texas.

East Africans living in USA have lately been making news in their local communities due to fiery dedication to religion and for reversing the missionary work done in Africa over a century ago by Europeans. While most of the people in the USA have gradually drifted away from mainstream Christianity to becoming atheists, East Africans on the other hand are rapidly filling the religious void and are becoming Christian missionaries in America.

The March 9 event will take place at 10 Putney Ave. in Waltham. For the small entrance fee asked for this event, it will be a great way to see off the final days of the chilling winter season.

AjabuAfrica.com will be there to cover the event for our readers across the globe.
