WALTHAM, Mass., Ugandans in Boston, Mass. and the surrounding areas were on Saturday disappointed with the performance of one of their home celebrated artist Jose Mayanja a.k.a Chameleon held at the Waltham based French Club.
Chameleon, who for a long time was a darling of Ugandans in Massachusetts, sang just a few old songs for only 35 minutes without completing any of the songs.
Folks eager to listen to his much-loved songs left the club complaining that they have been cheated of their money.
The organizer of the concerts Ms. Haawa Ssebunya, who is also the former proprietor of Kampala club USA said that it was indeed unfair and not good for his fans but promised that the Worcester concert slated for next weekend will be better.
“We are sure that the Worcester show will be better organized and we expect to have more people because there are more Kenyans in the city who enjoy listening to his songs mostly those in Swahili.”
And as promised by Haawa, reports close to Ajabu Africa.com indicated that the Worcester event was much better than the Waltham event with many Kenyans in attendance.
She added that Chameleon has been hosted by Timothy Kizito, former actor/artist in the renowned Ebonies plays, the Government Inspector and the Dollar.
She said that tickets are being sold at $25 at different Ugandan business out-lets and $30 at the gate.
Meanwhile another Ugandan Reggae artist Bebe Cool is getting better and is expected to perform on the October, 30th at the French Club.
Posters announcing the concert in the US codenamed “Kasepiki” which is a luganda translation for sauce-pan are already up and the artist will have several concerts in different states.

Haawa, the organizer of the Bebe Cool tour said that the concert in Boston has been confirmed and that the tickets are to cost $25 at the business outlets and $30 at the gate.
Bebe cool suffered serious injuries after he and two other friends were shot shortly after a performance in Kampala, Uganda early this year.
One of the friends died from the injuries sustained and the other one is still recuperating in Uganda, while Bebe cool came to seek medical attention in Boston Mass. where his mother resides.
He was seen walking without the support of clutches along Lexington street with his family.
Folks especially Ugandans cheered him as they asked him for the Kasepiki song and Cool in return waved at them, saying that he will be live and kicking on stage.
