LOWELL, MA_ A  West African dominated community church in Lowell recently held a overnight prayer service that organizers  said was meant to cast out demons and unwanted spirits holding down  the  maximum exploitation of God given gifts in people’s  lives.

The event, held at the Praise Tabernacle Worship Center (PTWC) on 125 Perry Street in Lowell was attended by dozens of worshippers form different countries.

Led by pastor Ben Akotey, a Ghanaian man of God who has been relentlessly working to build a God fearing community from a multitude of nations, the overnight prayer at the venue that used to hold Hosanna Gospel Center, a well known Kenyan community church that relocated to another venue, was all that  it was meant to be; spiritual healing.

The service started at 11pm on Friday November 25, the day after the thanksgiving holiday and continued till the wee hours of the morning.

The prayer session started with a powerful praise and worship. Although frequented by predominantly the West African community in Lowell, many other worshippers from other countries including Brazil, USA and Kenya easily slid into the praise mode with familiar gospel tunes in both English and Ghanaian.

Among the visiting pastors present included   prophetess Audrey Maison , a Ghanaian female pastor from Florida Ghana who moved worshippers with powerful songs coupled with fiery intermittent prayers.

Speaking during the prayer session, prophetess Maison said that she would be flying to Kenya in a few days for missionary work at the Kawangware slums near Nairobi where she will be preaching.

Others were Rev. Denis Kwame Anane of the revelation power ministries, East Hartford, Connecticut, who asked worshippers to always have faith and trust in God as they go about their lives in the USA.

“If you trust and have unwavering faith in God, he will always protect you from your enemies. He will make those seeking to destroy you to get blinded with defeat”, said pastor Anane.

Encouraging worshippers to keep connected to the word of God, Pastor Ben Akotey said that the fight we are in these days is a fight of the spirits that needs continuous, undiluted word of God in order to win.

“That’s why we are here tonight to cast out demons and empower the people to live free lives”, said the cleric.

He welcomed people from the area of Lowell who may not have a church to come and worship with them so that their lives may be enriched.

“We are always welcoming new people into our international church”.

Pastor Akotey is an international preacher who frequents many countries around the world to propagate the gospel. He is well known among members of the African community in Lowell and greater Boston    in tune with his desire to be a cross cultural man of God.

Among the communities frequenting the Praise Tabarnacle worship center are Ghanaians, Cameroonians, Nigerians, and Liberians but has recently attracted worshippers from other countries to their services conducted in English.

The  meeting saw many believers come forward for prayers on various  issues like sickness, financial breakthrough, marriages , destroying old practices, beliefs  and  many more.
A similar meeting is slated to take place in january, next next year.
